Careers

We are always interested in people who take practical work seriously and understand the value of a tidy site, clear communication and steady follow through. From our base in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, we support recycled plastic lumber decking and benches for projects across South Africa.

Working at our Paarden Eiland base

Plastimber is a hands on team. The work is varied, from office based coordination to site visits, material preparation, delivery planning and installation support. We serve residential, commercial and trade customers in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, George, Johannesburg and Durban, so people here need to be organised, practical and comfortable working with deadlines.

Our day to day work often involves outdoor sites, wet weather, coastal humidity and the realities of load shedding, so we value people who can keep moving and keep others informed. If you like clear tasks, useful systems and proper workmanship, you may fit in well here.

The roles we usually hire for

We hire for a mix of production, logistics, sales, customer support and site related roles. The team may include people who handle site measures, layout planning, material quoting, delivery coordination, installation, refurbishment and trade support. We also need practical minds who can help with edge finishing, component replacement and care advice for clients.

  • Sales and client support
  • Project coordination and scheduling
  • Production and workshop support
  • Installation and site assistance
  • Logistics and delivery planning
  • Trade and after sales support

What we look for in candidates

We look for people who are reliable, respectful and able to work without fuss. Experience helps, but attitude matters too. A good candidate is punctual, pays attention to measurements and instructions, and can speak clearly with clients, suppliers and team members. If you have worked with building materials, outdoor products, tools, site work or customer service before, that is useful.

Because our products are used in real spaces where people walk, sit and gather, we need steady workers who understand safety, neat finishes and basic care on site. A willingness to learn is important, and so is the ability to handle a busy week without losing detail.

How our team works day to day

Our work is practical and mostly on the move. One day may involve a quotation for a deck in Somerset West, the next day a delivery plan for Durban or a refurbishment job in Bellville. There is often a mix of office time, warehouse time and site time, so flexibility helps. You will need to communicate well, because small errors in measurements or timing can cause delays.

  • Keep records accurate and easy to follow
  • Work neatly with tools, components and stock
  • Respect client property and site rules
  • Help solve problems early rather than late

Applying through our contact page

If you would like to join us, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page. Please include the role type you are interested in, your location, and a short note about your experience. If you have hands on knowledge of decking, benches, installations, logistics or support work, mention that clearly.

We review applications as needed when suitable opportunities arise. We may contact people whose skills match the work we have at the time, so make sure your details are current and easy to read.

A workplace that values practical contribution

We are proud of work that lasts, and we appreciate people who care about the details that clients notice every day. A well set out delivery, a clean installation and a careful handover all matter. That same standard applies inside the team as well. Everyone plays a part, from production and logistics to customer support and site work.

Plastimber has been serving South African projects since 2009, and the team has grown through practical experience, not noise. If you want a place where your effort is visible and useful, there may be room for you here.
